This time, I am going to tell you about my village called Setono.
Setono Village is the village that was the result of the merger of Dekoro Village and Karangmalang Village in Pekalongan Timur District, Pekalongan City, Central Java Province, Republic of Indonesia.
The Merger of village based on Pekalongan City Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2013 concerning Merging of Village in Pekalongan City Government Environment.
Now, I would like to tell you more about Setono starting from the history of Setono, then the geographical location, after that demographics of Setono, and the last is about social and also economic conditions. Here we go ...
A. History of Setono Village
The history of Setono Village itself originated from a tomb in Setono, precisely in the middle of the rice fields behind the Kelurahan office called Pulo. Formerly the Pulo occupants were named Sheikh Tono, then the name Sheikh Tono was named after the Setono Village which was founded by Mbah Dakwah (Mbah Dut). Mbah Dakwah founded Setono Village accompanied by Mbah Tamin and Mbah Jokoriyo.
Whereas Karangmalang Village which is adjacent to Setono Village was founded by Mbah Klabankoro. Mbah Klabankoro is the older brother of Mbah Dakwah.
Karangmalang Village consists of Serontakan Village which is taken from the name of the person, Ki Surontoko. At that time the Karangmalang party did not agree to establish Setono Village. But as time went on the debate gradually disappeared. Then Setono Village joined the Karangmalang Village.
Previously the Karangmalang-Setono village was part of the Batang Regency area. Karangmalang-Setono includes the most western border village, with the Kali Banger border. While west of Kali Banger is Poncol Village, East Pekalongan District.
Kali Banger itself has an interesting history of disputes between Ki Ageng Karangmalang who came to Ki Ageng Dukoro and Ki Surontoko to avenge his son's death (Joko Bondan). But Ki Ageng Karangmalang before Ki Ageng Dukoro was subdued and wanted to become a follower, even then the request was granted by Ki Ageng Dukoro. While Joko Bondan who was killed, his body was thrown into the river while saying: "Suro diro jaya ningrat lebur dening pangastuti sing becik ketitik sing ala ketara, yen ono ramening jaman kali iki sinebut Kali Banger."
B. Geographical Location of Setono
Setono Village is located in Pekalongan Timur District, Pekalongan City, Central Java Province, Indonesia. Postal Code: 51122 (Ex. Setono & Karangmalang), 51123 (Ex. Dekoro).
The Setono Village Office is located on Jalan Sengkuyung No.3, Karangmalang, Pekalongan Timur, Pekalongan City, Jawa Tengan 51122.

Setono is one of the villages, which becomes the center of economic growth in Pekalongan City administratively having borders as follows:
North: Degayu Village
South: Kalibaros Village
West : Poncol Village
East : Gamer Village
Then, this is about agricultural land and rainfall.

The total area of Setono is 1,91 km2 or 191 hectares (Ha). All region is a flat area, there are no areas with steep gradients. They are consisting of 102 hectares (Ha) dry land and 80 hectares (Ha) rice fields.
Based on BPS data of Pekalongan Timur Subdistrict, Setono is a tropical climate with average rainfall in 2016 recorded about 208,91 mm/month but 2.5 mm/year in 2017, and the number of rainy days is 140 days. The average temperature in Setono from year to year has not changed much, ranging from 31º-32ºC.

The total population of Setono in 2018 based on BPS data of Pekalongan Timur Subdistrict as much as 10.543 people/km2, consisting of 5.422 males and 5.121 females. In 2018, the population density of Setono as much as 5.520 people/km2. (You can check it out, click here)
The total population of Setono tends to increase along with the increase of population.
Whereas based on BPS data of Pekalongan Timur Subdistrict in 2017, the total population of Setono in 2017 as much as 10.454 people/km2, consisting of 5.379 males and 5.079 females.

I will begin to inform social conditions starting from education.
Setono has 4 private kindergartens. The number of students consists of 199 (107 males and 92 females). The workforce as a right kindergarten teacher only reached 16 people.

Setono has 2 private elementary schools and 2 public elementary schools. The number of students consists of 877 (462 males and 415 females). The workforce as a teacher only reached 16 people.
There is no junior high school, senior high school, and vocational school in Setono but there are many Islamic schools by the Ministry of Religion. You can check it out, here.

Now, I will inform you a little bit about the economic conditions of Setono.
The Batik Grocery Market Setono is one of the most affected factors in economic and tourism conditions. Setono is famous for the Batik Grocery Market Setono. It is a grocery market that is visited by many tourists. Batik grocery Market Setono is the first shopping area that sells various handicrafts including batik and some other products. Here, it also sells in the form of retail. Commodities of batik, convection, weaving, palekat and crafts are the main trading centers in Setono grocer Market.

The grocery market is easily accessible, located 3km east side of Pekalongan city, that is on Jl. Raya Baros which is Main road Jakarta - Surabaya (northern way). Beside the grocer market, Batik home and other handicraft center are located in some areas in Pekalongan city.
Besides, I will inform about the livelihoods of the residents of the Setono village based on data from the Setono village (click here).
Based on the website of Setono Village, there are 2,364 people who are laborer / private. Furthermore, there are 164 civil servants. Next, there are 650 entrepreneurs/traders. Next, there are 25 tailors. After that, there were 44 masons. Then, as many as 46 carpenters. Then, there are 8 farmers. Then, there were 46 fishermen. In addition, there are 14 mechanics. There is also a doctor. In addition, there were 18 drivers while 23 rickshaw drivers. Then, there were TNI / Police as many as 133 people. Then there are as many as 116 farmers. And the others (aside from the mentioned work) reached 1,459 people.

Based on the picture above, it shows that the means of land transportation in Setono consist of public buses, public transportation, motorcycle taxis, rickshaws, and trains. However, there is no water transportation.
Then, about sports infrastructure. There are two soccer fields, 6 badminton courts, and 4 other fields.
The last is about trading facilities. In Setono there is 1 market, 199 shops, and 120 mini markets.
Industry Sector
Manufacturing industries are grouped into 4 categories based on the number of workers, namely: big scale industry (100 employees or more), medium scale industry (20-99 workers), small scale industry (5-19 employees), and microscale industry (1 -4 workers).
Based on the value of the investment, the industry can be divided into a big industry that is> 5 billion rupiah, medium industries> 200 million rupiah ≤ 5 billion rupiah, and small industrial≤ 200 million rupiahs. In this chapter, the types of industry are grouped into three groups, namely MachineMetal Industry, Assorted Industry, and Agricultural Products Industry. Industry in Setono is mostly small industries. In 2018, the number of Small Industries as much as 132 companies.
Small and medium industries have increased in the number when compared to the previous year. While the Big Industry number has not increased when compared to last year.
